The Training Band was founded 1990 in response to an increasing number of young wind and brass players in Hillingdon. The band is enthusiastically directed by Helen Turnbull and the 50 or so students are around Grade 2 to 4 standard. Young wind players new to the Saturday Music Centre usually join this group first. They play original works for bands as well as popular tunes from TV, cinema and musicals.
